The opening band was from Sweden. They're called the Sounds. For some reason, the theme of the day was bands with chicks as lead singers. This band was okay in our opinion. They kinda have this new wave-ish sound to them. The chick really loves doing this drop it like its hot move. It was her go to dance move during their set.
The next band was one Jan was really looking forward to. The first time we saw them was at the Orange County Fair last year. The only reason we went to that show was because Jack's Mannequin was their opening act. But ever since that show, we really got hooked. The tiny lead singer chick can really belt them out.
Now for the main event. Although this band has been around for ages, this is the first time we've ever caught them live on stage.
For a chick that just popped out two kids, Gwen is amazing shape. I wonder if she's on that P90X system.
Here's a shot of the crowd. At the top is the lawn section. There was a point in the show where Gwen made them jump around. A bunch of kids packed on a grassy slope jumping everywhere... not our cup of tea.
One of my co-workers made it to the show as well. She even managed to get us the setlist. Here it is:
Spiderwebs
Hella Good
Underneath It All
Excuse Me Mr.
Ex-Girlfriend
End It On This
Simple Kind of Life
Bathwater
Guns of Navarone
New
Hey Baby
Running
Different People
Don't Speak
It's My Life
Just A Girl
Encore:
Rock Steady
Stand and Deliver
Sunday Morning
Good lookin out Debbie!!!
During Stand & Deliver, all three bands hit the stage. Adrian, the No Doubt drummer, even ran around the amphitheater while drumming in a tu-tu.
As the show wore on, it was apparent to us that most of their workout is done on stage. Gwen does all kinds of kicks, jumps, and weird dances throughout the whole show. She even makes Tony hop all the way across the stage.
Here's some clips of the show.
Till next time kids, peace out!!!
