We spent the rest of the day lounging in the pool with more nieces and nephews.

Our buddy Erwin even came along for the festivities.

We spent the whole afternoon barbecuing, water gun fighting, and just relaxing.

Once again, our little niece Trinity hammed it up for the camera.

The next day, we were off to my uncle's house in Glendora. This is the same uncle who worked on the video for my dad's party a couple weeks ago. He, my dad, and uncles would make home movies on 8mm reels back in the day. It's great to see he still has that passion for movie making after all these years. We caught up with some cousins, and even played a round of Mad Gab.

Its a whacky game where you read a card showing gibberish phrases. The idea is that if you just say the words, you should be able to hear something completely different. For example, a card would say "Know bell price" (this is an easy one). So, the answer would be "Nobel Prize". The silly game gets pretty competitive.

On Labor Day, we were off to the Valley (like, for sure). Our old buddy Al Noel was off on another adventure. I met this guy at the weekend orientation at UCR. He was my roommate for the weekend. Keep in mind I've never met this guy before that time. But, we just get settled in the room. And this guy is asking me for everything... toothpaste, soap, shampoo. All I could think was... WTF!!! Who is this guy? He may have even asked to borrow some boxers too. It was a long time ago. My memory is fading. We still get a laugh reminiscing about that day. It is now 13 years later, and we are wishing him a safe journey. He has decided to move to Spain. No real plan. Just fly over there. Stay at a hostel. Then figure out what to do with his life. Good luck old friend.
